Fuigo matsuri
Bellows Festival. A bonfire festival held on November 8 at Fushimi Inari Shrine (Inari Taisha) in Fushimi Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. Bonfire stakes sent by believers throughout the country are burnt. Among master casters and blacksmiths who uphold the Inari faith it is called the Bellows Festival. Legend has it that on this day a foot bellows descended from heaven. Bellows are sanctified and celebrated.
There is also a bellows festival at Nangū Shrine (Nangū Taisha) in Tarui Town, Fuwa County, Gifu Prefecture.
